need quick info

is this piece called the crossmember? the black cross bar that the picture shows being bolted.

http://v8tvshow.com/images/stories/T...802%5b1%5d.jpg

does anyone know the bolt size and torque for that?

i am assuming the center bolt is the transmission mount?

lastly, where is the stock tunnel brace located in relation to this? i cant get under my car at the momment and its near impossible to see anything without jacks anyway so...

BonzoHansen 11-01-2009 09:20 AM

yes it is. not sure the size and torque for something like that is 'enough'. I've never put a torque wrench on a crossmember bolt.

yes, that is the trans mount.

not sure what you mean by tunnel brace.

S.J.SLEEPER 11-01-2009 09:29 AM

10 x 1.50 thread pitch , 1 3/4" - 1 7/8" long @ 37ftlbs

tunnel brace should be roughly a foot back from the crossmember and have 4 short bolts in it. the underbody will have 2 retangular stands that are welded to body that the brace bolts to

perfect... thanks sj! off to find repacements.

S.J.SLEEPER 11-01-2009 02:04 PM

what you need, just the bolts?
hardware store have them
or i got them if you feel like taking a ride o barnegat

grandkodiak 11-01-2009 03:14 PM

yea pepboys, autozone and home depot didnt have em so i ordered online from boltdepot.com. home.d probably had them but the one near me is run by monkeys... the drawers of bolts looked like they were organized by a blind chinese man with parkinsons.

sweetbmxrider 11-01-2009 03:46 PM

better off at a local hardware store next time. the one by me had exactly what i needed when both lowes and the depot failed me.

grandkodiak 11-01-2009 04:27 PM

my worries now are if the old bolt is still in place... and just the head popped. meh... worry about that later.

grandkodiak 11-03-2009 05:55 PM

sj got the next challenge for you... same info but for tunnel brace... size/thread/length/torque?

S.J.SLEEPER 11-03-2009 08:26 PM

ok...... well i know they are 5/8" long and torqued to 24ftlbs
they are either 8x1.25 thread or 10x1.50 thread.
maybe someone else here is 100% sure on the thread/pitch.

i don't have all the answers but most !!! lmao

Pampered-Z 11-04-2009 09:29 AM

Do you need the brace or just the bolts? I think I have a stock one somewhere? or you can upgrade to an aftermarket unit that has a DS loop.

grandkodiak 11-04-2009 02:23 PM
