Ocean Chevy, Toms River, New Jersey
anyone know what's up with them? they've had zero cars on the lot and zero lights lit for at least two weeks. are they one of the 1600 dealerships GM decided to ax? couldn't've happened to a nicer bunch of guys (dripping sarcasm). just wondering if they are only temporarily closed (like town & country was years ago) or if it's permanent.

I think thats the dealer that marked up my girlfriends cousins camaro after he waited months for it. Same thing happened to chevy 73 in berlin.
|
Nope, they are gone. Pine Belt bought up all thier cars pre-C4C.
|
Don't think they will be missed...

Black Auto SS right? |
Are there any good Chevy dealers in that area? One of my co-workers lives in Beachwood and he is starting to think about replacing his Corolla with a new Malibu. He went to Ocean Chevy over the weekend to take a look at one, and found the same story there as Jim.....

Ahaha...nope.
Pine Belt is a bunch of scum, but they are by far the largest Chevy network in the area. Not sure about DeFelice, but I think they are on its way out too? I went to Circle, and they were pretty good. Only reason I didnt buy a car there is because they pulled out of C4C. |

ocean chevy was to become a jeep, dodge and chrysler dealer, but in order to due that they need to sell chevy and mazda, well they did that then negoiations fell apart with dodge so they closed up, all the parts went to pine belt chevy in eatontown,
also there will be a new nissan building it toms river, |
oh, boy. knock down a chevy building for a new nissan dealership? i thought 37 already had a nissan dealer.
best bet in picking up a new camaro is to hang out on either camaro5.org or 5thgen.org - there are a few reputable salesmen who also frequent those two sites that have built a reputation for solid deals on the new camaro. as far as getting one from a place like Ocean Chevy, well, they're right up there with Pine Belt as far as reputation as thieves. the best course of action is to catch a repo'd car (or one year lease) from a dealer you know and trust not to rip you off. i know car dealers have to make money, but they don't have to resort to 5k gouging or ripping people off to make that money. |

the sucky part about ocean chevy is that i took the wife's liberty there for warranty service. i had to call around the last time (it was ball-joint related) because ocean said they didn't have the part and it was on back order (supposedly). i think they didn't want to do the service and came up with the bull story to appease would-be-customers. i bought a car from them years ago and really got ripped off. my credit was bad and they were having some kind of promotion, so i went down there. 4 years into the loan i was still upside down. sofa king lame. |
