I got a stock LT1 cam.. dunno if that part comes off it, but I can check this evening for you.

That is not on the cam. That's the distributor gear. It is driven by the gear on the end of the camshaft.

is it a option to get a stronger bronze one and have it pressed on. I think they are 30-40 bucks.
