Carb intake combo

Ok finally got to work on my 86 camaro today (305). I finally got it timed right with a new distributor, coil, cap and rotor. Anyway my carb is **** so im looking for a new one. Im ordering a Eldelbrock performer intake and want to know what carb you would suggest to go with it.

right now im running this carb with a adapter plate to a stock intake.

IMHO you could do a lot worse than the 'ol 600 vac sec. I ran that carb on everything from 289 Ferds to various sized AMC engines w/o any issues. Why not just rebuild what ya got and go with it again?

that is true. My brother and I thought about doing that as well. If I were to get the new intake i would not not that adapter plate anymore correct.

Absolutely. A 600 VS on an Edelbrock performer is just fine.

Yep, no more adapter needed. You might want to check out Summit Racing for a manifold. I think Edelbrock is giving a 25 buck mail in rebate that expires in Dec. You might be able to save a couple of bucks.

Ah, the rebate is only on the Performer Air Gap. But the standard Performer is a pretty inexpensive manifold even w/o a rebate.
