HEARD just as good as MT's... who knows... They dont make a 26" tire for now anyway...

transmaro93 12-03-2009 08:44 PM

^^ my thoughts exactly.... the 26in size they make is only 8.5 inches wide... if they made a 275/50/15 id give them a shot... good year makes a decent tire... they look like they would get pretty sticky

edpontiac91 12-03-2009 09:58 PM

Think they will come out with a 16" and 17" size?

NJ Torque 12-03-2009 10:00 PM

The older style SS DR's were in 14/15/16/17's...

So only time will tell... I'll see if I can find anything at work tomorrow about them.

they do look nice, i'd try the drag racing section on ls1tech personally.

i wouldnt "try them out" just because of the price. i can get QTPs for the same price with more size options

JSPERFORMANCE 12-04-2009 08:26 AM

They have been out for a while.. They hook great but are a race tire and wont last very long at all in street use..

NJ Torque 12-04-2009 09:56 AM

Josh,

IIRC, they have a new style of the SS DR out... and yes they have been around a few years, but this is suppose to be a new compound.

JSPERFORMANCE 12-04-2009 10:03 AM

Yeah, a few of the guys were testing them last year.. We could have gone on the deal but I dont run a radial..

1984camaroz28 12-04-2009 10:43 PM

they are Junk.... 2 of my friends tried them and had a very hard time making them stick mid 9sec car and a 8.50 index car..... they both run MT radials now....

Nice times, but a LOT of us slooooooooooooower guys might get some good bite from our 12-14 sec cars. I had BFG Drag Radials on my 14 sec Bird about 5 years ago, and they were slightly better than my stock rubber (about 2 tenths).

I wasnt crazy about them but I wouldnt call them junk. They took a little more time for us to figure what to do to the suspension to make them work but once we got it right they hooked pretty well, 1.31 60' on one car in fact. Sometimes you just have to have a little patience to get suspension set up correct on DR cars..

''that,s what imm talking about'''

I ran them on my stalled 98. They would dead hook on my 1.7 12.5 car.
