Congrats. You know, back in my day we had to walk 500 miles uphill in the snow both ways just to check for possible jobs in the surrounding states. You kids these days have it easy and still expect everything to be given to you. *shakes head*

Fixed.

And congrats man! Good luck

While I remember, Ernst & Young was recruiting/interviewing a boat load of people from Penn State, so you should give them a shot.

wretched73 12-14-2009 09:28 PM

Congrats man, i know a good bit of accounting majors, not really my cup of tea though

HardcoreZ28 12-15-2009 07:43 AM

Congrats....job market is a little tough right now for accounting though. I've talked to a few recruiters I know and they post a lot of phony ads on places like Craigslist just to get your resume into their system for when the market improves.

Your best bet is to network with friends you may know in the field and see if they can hook you up. Also might be easier after New Years as all the companies start with a fresh budget then.

congrats man and I agree with Paul. I graduated last December and it took me till July to get a FT accounting job. Market is tough but keep searching the job sites and uploading your resume, especially monster. I checked them religiously and that's how I got my job. Another thing I did was sent out my resume and a cover letter to all the local firms...it didn't help me but it's another idea that can't hurt.
