Thank You CFC and Craigslist!!
My Cherokee has had some bad rot in the lower door seam for a few years now, and it's finally started to come through to the outside. See the pic -
http://i256.photobucket.com/albums/h...e/IMG_0840.jpg Well, thanks to the CFC program and some searching on Craiglist, I found a junkyard about an hour away from me that had the exact same color Jeep, and it was rust free! My brother-in-law and I drove up yesterday to NY and removed it in the freezing cold. I scored the door for $125, including the window, heated power mirror, and inside door panel. Sweet!! Can't wait to debadge it and install in the spring time. Plus, if I'm lucky, I should be able to sell the extra door panel and mirror to recoup the cost! http://i256.photobucket.com/albums/h...e/IMG_0856.jpg |

LOL @ Scott, he was confuzzled. :) Honestly, I couldn't believe the amount of clean late-model stuff in that yard that were clunked. I think there were almost a dozen Cherokees, at least a dozen Grand Cherokees, and quite a few Blazers and Trailblazers too. The body of the XJ I got my door from was perfect, and the interior was near mint too. Good deal for me! I also got a set of factory rubber weathermats for my wife's Jeep Liberty and factory rear mudflaps for my XJ for an extra $12. I think the mats went for about $75 new at the dealer! |
yeah for anyone that has access to a c4c jy its a good time for parts, the one near me bought a tons and filled one of the parking lots at monmouth race track.
