need tuning help

Hey everyone, I have a 1978 Camaro with a 350 in it, and I can't for the life of me get the timing and carb adjustments right,
I think its supposed to be at 8 degrees above tdc and I'm not sure how to set the 4bbl Rochester carb, anyone have any experience
With this stuff? Should I perhaps take it somewhere to get it professionally tuned for peak performance? Also does anyone have
Any tips or suggestions on the MSD 6AL and blaster 2 coil on a 1st gen 350? Thanks everyone!

Adam,

Some light reading for you:

There are really no suggestions for the 6AL and Blaster 2 as long as they are working right. Only two exceptions- if the 6AL is in a tight enclosed area or near a heat source you may want to consider moving it, and if the Blaster 2 is mounted sideways you should probably turn it to be vertical.

if the motor was freshly rebuilt, the timing chain could be off ,even just by one tooth, that will give u the simptoms ur describing.
