Best place to live to in South Jersey?

Hey everyone,
I found a buyer for my condo in Marlton yesterday. I am closing on April 1st. So that gives me about 2 1/2 months to buy a home. My main problem right now is that I need to figure out what town we should move to. I am looking to spend around $250k on a 3+ Bed, 2+ Bath single family home with a 2+ car garage. I work in Bensalem, PA and my fiancé works in Mays Landing, NJ. The goal is to find somewhere in between our places of work that is somewhat quiet and has great schools. Oh, and the further away we are from trashy/ghetto people the better.

After doing a quick search, Williamstown & Folsom are on my list places to look. Do you guys know of another town that fits what I am looking for? How about any info on Williamstown & Folsom?

Thanks in Advance,
Mark B

Where in Bensalem do you work? That's the next town over from me.

Camden is usually nice this time of year. :D

Do you want to stick in that general area? With house prices dropping you could probably get good deals in Shamong, Tabernacle etc.

East Greenwich has some nice houses

Elmer is a nice place. Low population and very good schools. Shamong and Tabernacle are nice also, very rural. The only towns I would stay away from if you're looking for more rural/country setting are hammonton, vineland, or millville. Nothing wrong with them, but seems like places you wouldn't be interested in.

Williamstown isn't bad. other than the traffic from atco to williamstown on williamstown rd. Absolutely sucks in the afternoon since everyone is trying to get onto the AC expressway. Rt 42 aka black horse pike traffic is no better. The plus is there are alot of stores nearby incase you need to run out and get something. The shoprite is also open 24 hrs. I've gone in there late quite a few nights without any worries :) I use realtor.com when I'm looking for houses around this area.

Williamstown born and raised if you have any questions ask away. Personally I like Williamstown traffic isn't too bad and there are some nice houses out on 555 and bluebell rd that may be in ur price range plus there still semi rural areas and not too congested. Nice neigborhoods great schools, I've been thru them lol. Um if u need someone to show u around the town let me know be happy to help ya out. In williamstown stay away from main street, and victory lakes, starting to get ghetto. Feel free to pm me:
I live in forest hills it's right on 322 very easy to get places very central to all the main roads.

Everyone comes back. Almost never fails.

Frosty 01-15-2010 06:13 AM

Yeah, lol. I just never felt at home up here. All of my family is still either in Medford Lakes or spread out through Camden County.

Lakes Huh? What High School did you got to? Shawnee? What year did you graduate?

MonmouthCtyAntz 01-15-2010 07:52 AM

I like the Mt. Laurel area.

Neither, grew up in Mt. Ephraim, graduated from Audubon in '98.

My parents didn't move us to Medford until after I graduated in '98.

I like Marlton. Ive lived here for 7 years. But its gotten too busy & congested. Plus my dollar can go alot further when buying a home in another town. My taxes were 4k last year.... ON A CONDO!

I am going to miss being 5 minutes from EVERYTHING though. The areas I am looking at are in the middle of nowhere by comparison.
