Yeah, since you don't have a carb to deal with on an 85 IROC

edpontiac91 01-14-2010 08:40 PM

You have to understand that the eBay listing cost almost $253,731.12. To offset that cost, it is easy to see why the price went UP! Plus once he pays off the commission and the PayPal fee, the poor guy will be left with nothing . On a serious note, I think all the signatures detract from the car. I would love to own something like that (for a LOT LESS) without the signatures and what the hell would happen IF you somehow got into a fender bender. Of course you couldn't drive ANY classic car with 734 miles without starting to ruin its value. So it becomes a USELESS IROC with a story.

Without the signatures I'd put that car at 50k with that mileage. The signatures are a big deal since that was a huge concert in the 80s.

BigRocsFirebird 01-14-2010 08:42 PM

woahhh, pretty cool

I would argue to say its the biggest concert OF ALL TIME. It is still regarded as a culturally significant event all over the world.

BonzoHansen 01-14-2010 08:53 PM

Yeah, Live Aid was quite the event Huge.

I agree, those signatures raise the value of that car a lot. That is art now, no longer a car. Sadly. I'd love to have that car sans the ink.

Size- yes. But Woodstock vs. Live Aid is a tough comparison.

It's different. Kind of apples & oranges.

I have seen several 3rd Gen Firebird Formulas with mileage around 1K and in showroom condition (plastic still on console and such) only get bid up to less than $7,000 and asking around $15,000 for a Buy it Now price. Even the late '80's GTA, which were the HOTTEST F-Body you could buy then do not get prices above that (in Mint Condition). If you owned one of those during that time period, you were King of the Hill in terms of performance and looks. Just imagine a Charcoal Grey exterior with the Saddle Leather interior and Gold Diamond spoke wheels with gold badges. But I digress, they were the pinnacle of design at a different era and time.

V 01-14-2010 08:59 PM

hold on brb lol
