It was disabled on the side of the road so there probably wasn't anyone in it.

It says the speedo was stuck at 135 after the crash, I doubt they were going that fast. Either way, they are very lucky

JW 01-19-2010 02:28 PM

Why do you doubt the speed?

JW :D

How STUPID:rofl: were the parents of the "senior high school kids" to let them drive off in a high powered sports car. By the looks of that mangled totaled wreck, I don't doubt they were going at least 135 mph and lost control. Again the parents should be brought to court and slapped around for almost costing lives in BOTH cars, due to inability to comprehend that giving an unexperienced high school kid that much power is like signing his death warrant.

r0nin89 01-19-2010 04:07 PM

Remember kids by tires rated to how fast you plan on driving!

Squirrel 01-19-2010 04:52 PM

if i ever allegedly went that fast in my TA in my teen years i would never do it on a road with people with me

hey, when i was a sr in high school i got my 78 with a 350 and all that jazz, i just dont drive like a tool bc the peak of 78 safety is a little red light that says "fasten seat belts" and it turns off after 3 seconds, its more like a suggestion lol

Every case is different. I'm a high school senior, and my car has seen 11's, and I'm still alive. Not every high school kid is a complete idiot...some know how to be responsible. Whenever I decide to do stupid **** though I always make sure I'm alone.

Hmmm thats a really dumb thing for someone seeming to advocate a religious stand point to say.

Wouldnt your god being some all knowing being know preemptively who to bless with common sense?

Point being is that if you took 50 random H.S. students and gave them (for their first car) the keys to a new GTO, in a month what percentage would treat the car with respect and who would have wrecked it. It was a general statement (like OMG that a lot of people use) to say how were you taught right or wrong or to have the common sense to know just how far, being stupid, is about risking your own life or the life of others is in your hands! For those of you that were lucky enough to get a high performance car (as a first car) and not go over the edge with it, good for you. But I'am sure you know people with the same I.Q. as yours that did not appreciate or have the smarts not to abuse it.

FlyingDutchman 01-19-2010 07:45 PM

I dont break 100 with people in my car (unless they want too) because I wouldnt want something like that to happen and be my fault

Pretty amazing you could survive a wreck like that with limited injuries
