Yeah be careful try mice no one cares as much about mice, but sounds like your going to do what most others do and just let animals loose.

And as far as animal abuse goes, im going to make sure their taken care off and afterwards i plan on cooking them. ive raised chickens in Poland so i know how to handle/slaughter them

You may have the best intentions for the animals but other people may not, if they get kicked ect you will get blamed for it if they find out it was you.
