we must keep guns out of our schools

all too often its all we hear about. Something must be done, and at least one school has a zero tolerance policy....

I'd hate to have to load the ammo into that deadly weapon

ryanfx 02-08-2010 12:12 PM

Serves the kid right. Who does he think he is bringing in something that most any person could confuse with an authentic automatic rifle.

Well it DOES look about Kasey's size

BigAls87Z28 02-08-2010 12:15 PM

Well, maybe next time Kasey wont let his guns fall into the wrong hands.

LTb1ow 02-08-2010 12:40 PM

wow.

Thanks Al, way to go.

Squirrel 02-08-2010 12:43 PM

Mark42 02-08-2010 12:56 PM

My six year old got detention for drawing a picture of pirates shooting guns. Go figure.

hahah rediculous

NastyEllEssWon 02-08-2010 01:57 PM

rules are rules. it would probably be the same if he brought a butter knife to school. if youre gonna suspend one for making a hand gun gesture (few years back) you have to suspend them all for any breakages of the rules.

isn't a butter knife a LITTLE out of proportion?

BigAls87Z28 02-08-2010 02:44 PM

I could kill someone with a butter knife. But you can't kill anyone with a plastic molded gun that has no moving parts.

Why not?

I am sure someone properly motivated could do it.

BonzoHansen 02-08-2010 03:10 PM

This is about the failure of perhaps well-intentioned but realistically stupid 'zero tolerance' rules. Knee-jerk reactions to events and fear of lawsuits.

Stupid rules says "no weapons, real or toys" - and the zero tolerance parts gives the people in the school no ability to apply the intent of the rule.

V 02-08-2010 03:58 PM

sometimes... with rules, discretion is needed though. Without it, it can be just as bad.

like if there was intention or it was premeditated

Knipps 02-08-2010 04:34 PM

a gun is a gun is a gun. a knife is a knife is a knife. they're trying to keep the idea of killing out of the schools.

why do you think we're taught columbus was a pretty cool guy?

I see you've played "knive'seys spoon'seys before"

Czop418 02-08-2010 04:51 PM

Wow that's crazy I understand they have rules but to suspend a kid for a 2 inch Lego Gun. That's a little out of proportion.

Bangin Bob 02-08-2010 05:00 PM

When I was in school just about every pickup in the parking lot had a gun rack. Some might even had a gun on it? When I was in junior high I was in the bicycle club. They had a gun club and a bow and arrow club too. When I was in elementary school I was a cub scout. On the days we had our meeting after school we wore our uniforms. Guess what I had my pocket knife on my belt loop and took it to school! I would have never thought of taking that knife out to threaten anyone? Man times have changed and not for the good. I'm not that old either. This country is in bad bad shape! No one has any upbringing, self worth or common sense any more.

Wolfblitz 02-08-2010 06:13 PM

What ever happened to the good ol days of Cowboys and Indians? or running around a playground with r hand in a gun shape making a "pow pow" sound as loud as you could?

madness410 02-08-2010 07:03 PM

even if rules are rules are rules..teachers should be allowed some sort of discretion, the story is ridiculous.
