Dynomax, you get points for creativity

but I really doubt that spring is going to last long...

Not only that, but nearly half the muffler is dedicated to the valve. What a waste of space.

sweetbmxrider 02-17-2010 10:20 AM

don't the vettes have that?

Blackbirdws6 02-17-2010 10:32 AM

I think it looks neat. I've had good experience with Dynomax mufflers so hopefully the quality will still be there.

If it works, this would solve a lot of problems with the G8 crowd. It's incredible hard to get a drone free setup when changing even just the axle-back (rear mufflers & tips). Gets even more difficult when you do the whole exhaust.

Mine is really close to being drone free and it includes a pair of Dynomax ultra-flo's. Best setup I've had on the car to date.

Too gimmicky for me...

Corvettes NPP exhaust uses a vac system that opens valves in the muffler to divert gases throught the muffler.
This is just a spring

Yeah, that is my beef with it. With all of the water vapor going through a muffler I can't imagine it lasting long. It would still work I guess, but not as good.

After 6 -12 months of water vapor and other misc. debris i can just imagine the spring getting all rusted up and seizing or snapping altogether...

Yah, just put Kroil in your gas, it will clean the spring.
Maybe the spring is stainless?

They do say that it has a limited lifetime warranty....wonder exactly what that covers.

walker/dynomax LT usually covers only the part in question. So the muffler, but not clamps, labor, etc. We hever had a warranty issue with them I remember as long as you had paperwork.

I'm interested in this. I'd love to have a more aggressive full throttle tone and a quieter idle. I don't drive my car daily, so I'm not so concerned with long term durability.

The warranty covers 90 days. Day 91 it'll break, sounds like a GM story/part

It looks like the spring is in a sealed chamber of the muffler and the exhuast pipe shown is a cut away view. In that case, the spring should be fine
