d00d....this is 6 months old.

Ford felt left out, and they brought a PI version of the Taurus. Available with the AWD system and the Ecotboost 3.5.

SteveR 03-14-2010 11:40 PM

I cant help my retardedness.

And a police car with a twin turbo motor is stupid. PDs can have fun with a $10k turbo replacement bill once a year for each car in the fleet

BurninrubberGT 03-15-2010 01:24 AM

Firebird92 03-15-2010 06:25 AM

it's funny there are stock cars the public can buy with 2x-3x times faster for under 50k
it's some as the cars get faster every year the cop get faster every 5-10 hahah

Where in NYC would you really be able to use 300+ hp safely?

Never, but it's nice to know it's always there :D

To me it just looks like a dull family sedan in police trim. If you want a fast car, why buy a 5 year old ex-police beater? Go buy a used GTO if you want a fast dull family looking car.

I sell a lot of parts to the City of Long Branch, including supplying thier police fleet with fresh parts. Parts for that car isnt going to be cheap, but neither is the Caprice at first.

You have your choice for future cop car:
Chevy Caprice: Not built in America, but part of an American company, using American engines and other parts. RWD V6 and V8
Ford Taurus: Built in NA, but an expensive car. Doesnt offer the capacity of the Caprice, but offers AWD which can be good or bad depending on the market. Cost of DI TT engines is unknown.
Dodge Charger: Built in Canada by an Italian/American company. Revision comes out next year. Kind of an unknown, but will be much like the current car. Closest match to the Caprice in power and capacity.

Either way, Ford is gunna lose a large chunk of the market.
