Painting Tail lights/corner markers
So ive decided that i definitely want to smoke out my taillights and corner markers. I have a general idea of how to do this but i would rather get a complete idea so i dont make any mistakes. Does anyone know where i can find a complete write up. Also what should i use? any tips/tricks?

i was gonna go by that since it looks pretty complete. Anyone want to add anything |
vht nightshade. google it. apply in thin coats otherwise it runs. clear coat if you want the look. hit the lenses with a scotch brite pad or some light sand paper to scuff them up so the spray has something to adhere to. remove the lenses from the car too!

to rough it up? i think that wouldn't be gritty enough. i did it so there were faint marks on the lens. its your tails though do it how you want. you could wet sand after the final coat and before clear to get it smooth. siguy on here wrote up a nice little thread about his tails, check it.

what grit did u use

i wouldnt go heavier then 2000 personally

i just used a scotch brite pad so the surface wasn't that slick plastic feel. i'm no body man though, just what i suggest. try it on a marker light, rough one up, leave the other alone. see how they come out.

just go to your local auto store and get a scuffpad, you will see faint lines but the paint adheres to the surface of that and you cant see them after the paint is applied. don't go crazy, just gently go over every smooth part of your lights and scuff them up.
