I really hate the shootout...

...but I'm glad the Flyers won :nod::nod::nod:

It just sucks that entire season comes down to a shootout...but the fake fans like it so I guess it has to stay...

BurninrubberGT 04-11-2010 06:03 PM

ha suck it ranger fans

kinda didnt want the devils to face the flyers though...devils are 1-5 against them this year

Knipps 04-11-2010 06:07 PM

Beats games ending in a tie.

Frosty 04-11-2010 06:52 PM

Meh, not really lol

WayFast84 04-11-2010 07:19 PM

Its gonna be a good series devils vs flyers.

Frosty 04-11-2010 07:58 PM

It should be, that's the only team they can beat in the 1st round...and no I'm not disrespecting the Devils, the Flyers have played them strong all year.

The Flyers still aren't a great team, Devils in 7.

JL8Jeff 04-11-2010 08:30 PM

I hate the shootout even though the Flyers won.

Tsar 04-11-2010 08:39 PM

Good stuff, now Ranger fans can shut up until their ****** team until next season starts..

Frosty 04-11-2010 08:48 PM

Frosty 04-12-2010 08:00 PM

Wow, Ted, you're going to root for the Flyers?

Teds89IROC 04-12-2010 10:19 PM

Frosty 04-12-2010 11:52 PM

It's OK, we'll let you in. Come to the darkside...

Slow-V6 04-13-2010 08:47 AM

Is the hockey draft not strong anymore? Wouldnt you rather the team miss the playoffs to get a better draftpick if they have no chance of winning it? Everyone is all over the Eagles for not winning the superbowl and the flyers have been doing the same thing for the past 15 yrs. At least the SIxers who didnt make the playoffs this year for the 1st time in 3 or 4 years should get a top 7 pick in the draft.

Frosty 04-13-2010 10:05 AM

IMO you never want to miss the playoffs in order to get a draft pick. Your goal is to win, period.

SO then why is this area so over Andy Reid and Mcnabb? All they did together was win and get in the Playoffs!! I never felt that they would win a Superbowl ( I felt that way pretty much for all the past Eagles teams also) but I also dont feel that the Flyers have a chance to win it all either!! I agree with you that I would rather have a team make the playoffs and at least try to win then to tank it just to rebuild!!

Frosty 04-13-2010 11:00 AM

This area is all over them because we're starving for more championships, but lets face it...a lot of Eagles fans are idiots...they're not football fans, they're just Eagles fans.

The Flyers won't make a serious run either(even if they beat the Devils), they're just not that great of a team.

Regardless, I'd still rather see any team make the playoffs than have an early tee time.

I think despite the regular season stats between the Flyers and Devils, I think NJ has a good chance against the Flyers, though it will take 6 or 7 games to complete the series. Being the playoffs, both teams will step up their play, so it's not a matter of effort level, it'll come down to finesse.

Both teams can be physical, but I think the Flyers have the edge.

Both teams have skilled shooters, but I think NJ has the edge.

The key will be NJ's lessons learned from playing the Rangers last year. NJ got pounded last year because they didn't have the physical presence to work the boards and stay in front of the crease. If they learned anything from that, they'll be able to combine that experience with their finesse to win. If not, it'll come down to the hotter goalie.

I haven't seen how healthy Philly is, but NJ has everyone back (as I recall), with a few games in them going into tomorrow.

Definately looking forward to this!

GP99GT 04-13-2010 03:55 PM

i shall be at game 1 tomorrow. win

Frosty 04-13-2010 03:55 PM

The Devils are definitely the favorite, there's no question about that. However it should bet a good series...can't wait to hear the MAAAAARTY chants coming from the seats.

Philly is healthy aside from their goaltending. Emery went down, then Leighton went down, hell even Boucher AND his back up had injuries this year. Yes, the Flyers have 4 goalies out with injuries. Boucher, the #3 is healthy and playing well so we'll see.

The Flyers have a shot but it won't be surprising if the Devils win the series.

BurninrubberGT 04-13-2010 09:15 PM

Devils will win in 5
brodeur has let up 7 goals in the last 7 games, and kovalchuk has 27 points in 27 games with the devils.

Frosty 04-13-2010 10:10 PM

5?

The Flyers have lit up Marty all year and held Kovalchuk to like 1 point...

Now that doesn't mean the same will happen but as a Devils fan I wouldn't be too comfortable playing the Flyers....I still think the Devils will win the series but it won't be a cake walk.

BurninrubberGT 04-13-2010 10:22 PM

playoffs are a whole new season, what you did to a team in the regular season means nothing now. when the devils win in 5, il bump this thread
