wierd idea

so i was thinking that i want to be able to have a more efficient air conditioning system in my car, and was wondering if anyone had any ideas to provide better cooling to my ac condenser

Solar power!

interesting that you bring that up, i wonder if someone can fab a solar panel to fit in the place of an oem t-top?

Green_Phoenix_LT1 04-21-2010 10:27 PM

Don't use it.

Open-air cars ftw!

Solar panel to power this big oil pump and then a big ass cooler for your coolage!!!

And lets not forget the filtration for all this oil coolage!!!

ok, i can see that system working, but adding all those electric motors will create a hotter environment, which would require more cooling, so it would negate any benefits

LTb1ow 04-21-2010 10:33 PM

Well since I hear you have a mices problem, WHY NOT use some of these wired to fans!
http://www.colinst.com/whatsnew/009%...ng%20Wheel.jpg

Its like a win win win!

Mike 04-21-2010 10:34 PM

THAT would work, but then i would also need to add a dual filter litter box

maybe a cooler tubed into the sway bar so you can navigate exit ramps at break neck speeds WITHOUT disturbing your mice!!!!!

Mike 04-21-2010 10:39 PM

hmm, do you have any other pictures of that one?

LTb1ow 04-21-2010 10:41 PM

Can't seem to find any pics, seems as if no one has caught on teh greatness of sway bar cooling.

But really all you need is shiny!!!

Mike 04-21-2010 10:42 PM

please keep this on topic, i dont want any bling, polishing is for fooools

LTb1ow 04-21-2010 10:44 PM

Hmn yes, well you obviously don't know what you are talking about.

Damn kids.

BigAls87Z28 04-21-2010 10:54 PM

Nawz???!?!?!?!

LTb1ow 04-21-2010 10:58 PM

Post reported, please stay on topic.

Mike 04-21-2010 10:58 PM

not currently a viable option

LTb1ow 04-21-2010 11:00 PM

Need moar coolage!

if youre worried about heat you should go with a lower gear ratio, i hear the steeper the gears the more heat you get

i dont see how that would assist with cabin air temps

NastyEllEssWon 04-21-2010 11:11 PM

hook up an antenna switch?

SteveR 04-22-2010 12:03 AM

Buy like a giant tractor trailer ac condenser and plumb it into a giant intercooler from like a cruise ship and run the output of that into a tank of dry ice then the output of that to like a vent under your seat.

Mike 04-22-2010 12:20 AM

hmm dry ice....interesting

Blacdout96 04-22-2010 07:12 AM

propane? transportion buses used to use that and get their buses ice cold.....only down side is hope you dont crack a line.

Knipps 04-22-2010 09:07 AM

Wrap everything in fiberglass to keep the engine heat away from your cooling system

Stevoone 04-22-2010 09:15 AM

Something wrong with it or do you just want to increase efficiency?

Are the cooling fins on the condenser clean and straight? If you have a lot of bent fins or debris buildup that could affect the performance. Also too much oil in the system will cause cooling issues with the A/C.

Do you use the fresh air or recirculate setting? On hot humid days you will notice a big difference in duct temp if you use the recirculate mode. Instead of pulling all of the hot humid air from outside it will be pulling cool dry air that is already inside the car.
