Looking for house for rent.

I'm putting this here because the "other classifieds" dont see much traffic

Well long story short my roommate (girlfriend of a good friend) is to immature to handle the bills. Gas is off and I'm not sticking around when it gets turned back on just for it to happen again so I'm looking for my own place.

I've noticed that alot of the decently priced rentals are all listed for rent by owner in windows and usually never advertised. I've got like 5 places for $1200 a month that I found on the net to go check out but I'd like to try and find something cheaper. I figured I'd post up and see if anyone has seen a decent place local to them.

I'm looking for a 2br so I can split it with a friend. Location isnt super crucial but both me and my girlfriend work in lakewood so I'd like something near there (45min drive or less). Monmouth or ocean doesnt matter. I would like to have somewhat of a yard and it needs to have either parking for 5 cars or street parking over night.

Such terrible timing for me to have a project car... I bought an 87 Toyota Supra last month to turn into an autocross car and if I have to resort to getting and apartment its gonna have to sit at work...

So please feel free to reply or PM me. Just a phone number (if you can take the time to pull over) and rough town/street location are all I need.

Thanks guys!

why not just take over the handling of the bills and stay where you are?

Because the gas is at a $1700 balance. The landlord has been doing repairs/upgrades and my roommate over heard the property manager talking about wanting to up the rent to $1600 a month when the current tenants (IE friends girlfriend) decides to leave. If I were to take over said responsibilities I'd be starting way in the negative and risking a huge up in rent I cant afford.

I already walked this path and suggested it.

If you were to grow up and sell the BS cars you could purchase my condo for around $1560/mo with only $5700 down.

...jus' sayin'

[edited to fix the numbers]

I had 10s of thousands of dollars in available credit before I was 21. Closed on my first house @ 22. Buying my second property @ 23. While I'm in a different situation than most, it doesn't take much work to build good credit.

as opposed to no proof of a job? if you have a legit job and can pay your bills, you can get a credit card and build credit. then you can become a big boy and buy a house.

Yeah I have badass credit like mid 700s but credit doesnt mean **** now a days. Its all about income, pay stubs, and job security. Work off the books doesnt allow me to legally show any of that.

And thats just untrue about credit cards. I started with a $500 card. Then switched banks and stopped using the original one. Got a $1200 one and went to the bank one day and said hey I need a better rate on my card. They then handed me $4000 limit card and it has been upgraded to $4800 in the last year.

And thats not to mention he $7000 limit master card that I got from sears because I wanted the $50 off my christmas gifts last christmas. All before I was 20 except the sears card.

having lots of cards doesn't mean having good credit

.

that is how it was and always should have been. and if you work off the books then it is hard to claim income I guess. either go legit or pay cash.

No I know that. I've checked it before thats how I know. And I dont use half my cards just the one... I havent canceled the others because its supposedly bad for your credit to cancel cards.
