T56 sticky clutch or something else?
 

now Im sure all of you have heard or read about this "sticky clutch" issue.. something about the master cyl being restricted and alot of people drill it out and sometimes you may have to replace your slave... yeah ive read all about it... what my question to you is DO I HAVE THAT?

THIS IS WHAT HAPPEND:

1. I was inline at the entrance gate to my job and i was in 1st gear with the clutch in..

2. while i was waiting i guess my foot was getting tired and letting up just a little bit and i started moving BUT!! normally my clutch catches way higher and now it was catching just 1 or 2 inches off the floor

3. i stalled out and looke dlike a moron.

4. started it back up and had to ride the clutch in first, then i finially got out into second and the the clutch and everything started acting normal again...

should i take the normal steps like BLEED the system and all that.. and also who do you guys know who does good trans/clutch work?

First take a look at the fluid in your clutch master, if its dark and ugly ... flush it out with new. It usually helps ...

Its tough to bleed with someone helping, and next to impossible by yourself.

You can use a turkey baster to suck most of it out of the reservoir, and fill with new. Keep doing this for a bit as you drive it and you should notice a improvement.


The whole drill mod thing is when you are really driving the car hard and slipping it during WOT drag runs and such, you will loose pedal pressure. By your description it is the opposite it seems.

Just try cleaning the fluid first and see what that does.

yupp.. will do. i know you are supposed to use dot 3 break fluid but i hear u can also use dot 4 and it has a higher boiling point... what do you think about that?
