New kid

Hey yall, im new to the whole camaro scene. My brother just gave me his beat up 1997 v6 camaro. Ive always been a huge fan of muscle cars, so im very happy with the car although its beat up.

I know a little bit about general stuff about cars, not to much in depth though. Id love to learn more about my car if anyone is willing to teach me, and i hope i fit in well around here 8-)

:welcome:to the site. If you post up your questions, I'am sure there are enough people who can answer them or give you tips on how to do it. Lots of 4th Gen parts laying around . Throw some pictures of the Bird up!

Welcome to the site. There are a lot of knowledgeable f-body guys here. Any question you may have, at least one of them will be able to answer. I have asked a few and I have no doubt I will have more in the future haha. Good luck with the car and post some pics.

Hey, thanks all. Here are some pics of the body damage that happen to the car (automatic gate closed on it at a parking garage)

This is a indent in the front left side of the bumper, it has to crease and i know its plastic and all, but you think itll be possible to pop it out?

The whole passenger side fender is messed up, also another dent in the bumper, and this one has a crease in the middle, idk if i could pop it out.

ALSO: A friend of mine is a mechanic, he fixed up my engine with some homeade peices  because he said for the actual parts it would cost 300+ dollars. Does anyone know what this is? AND YES, THAT IS BEING HELD TOGETHER BE PAPERCLIPS!!!!!!!!!

Welcome!

MyFirstZ 05-04-2010 09:40 PM

you can pick them up under 200$ but getting the hoses off the back by the heater core can be a pain if you dont have the right tools

JerzLT1 05-04-2010 09:49 PM

I work at the Airforce base in EHT, youll probably see my bike a lot more than my car.... its not very street friendly

Woot, another v6er!

Yup, heater hose clamp.... I bypassed mine..... but I do not suggest that.

CHRIS67 05-05-2010 06:57 AM

Welcome to the site! At lease those are childproof caps on your heater hoses.
