DD-WRT

Anyone ever dabble with it? I'm looking at setting up a WRT54G v5 as a repeater for my wireless network. (It's set up in the basement and my room is on the 2nd floor along with another laptop and 2 XBOX 360s)

DD-WRT is awesome... just make sure you get one that actually supports the full version.

I had it for over two years on our Linksys G router until a power outage killed the 4 year old router in the fall. SInce then we've had a netgear router and the firmware on that seems good enough to not have to use DD-WRT on it. It was definitely worth it, but there is always the risk of bricking the router.

Yeah, I'll be using the micro version on a router that's just sitting around. It's not something I went out and bought or will really be too concerned about if I brick it. (Built 4/06)
