Drove a buddies modded G8 GXP at the track

Went to etown with my buddy Lech and his G8 GXP M6 yesterday. Mods are full exhaust, intake, tune, lca's and lowering springs. Car lays down 400+rwhp and is quit the challenge to launch on the stock 19s with 245s.

It was extremely hot yesterday and not a day to set a new best but I was thrilled to take it for a couple runs. I beat up on a couple mustangs and I believe I chirped third in both runs. The car needs a DR to lay the power down as the LS3 is quite an impressive engine. I had a good time running down the one mustang after a lovely smokey launch lol.

Lol yea they were realllly bored seeing as there were maybe 15 street cars there. I think the 2.5 60' is a new high for me haha. I can attest both my G8 and bird are below 2.0 at this point with me behind the wheel.

sweet lol

Nice, Brian. I hear the Stick cars are difficult to launch. I was consistantly in the 1.9x the last time out with the G8 on the factory 245s.

Yea they are tricky. Clutch has an awkward take up as well. My G8s best 60 was a 1.96 which I think won't get much better on the stock 245s.

Sure, you find it at Etown and I never see it when it lives 10 min from me :-?

Nice run in the first vid, the second you did a nice burnout, but about 20 feet too far forward

Lol. Yea well I wasn't pleased with the launch in either run and the car def has some balls simply launching it at 2k. I even tried to pedal it and it kept spinning lol. Fun car :)

its nice to see some good weather finally in jersey. those were good vids, glad you beat the mustangs, not like thats a hard thing though. :)

Weather really plays a HUGE part in how well your car will run and 93 degrees is murder on track times. Last Saturday @ Etown (Pontiac Day) it was cloudy and about 70 degrees. I got in two runs in the morning that were disappointing to me, a 14.26 @ 97 mph and a 14.24 @ 96 mph. So I dial in a 14.20 and got to run around 2:00 and had to rundown a 15.8 Bonneville. Thought I just beat him at the end, but we both had a double break out. I ran a 13.95 @ 99 mph. The car picked up 3 tenths and 3 mph. Come to find out that the air density had changed and quite a few cars were picking up 3-4 tenths. Englishtown used to post the air density on your time slip, but I noticed it was not on the ones they gave out then.
