2004 FORD EXPEDITION "SHELBY SEMA" 1 0f 1 @ Batt/Jack!
I was watching Barrett Jackson yesterday and saw a 2004 Ford Expedition go on the block. The president of Shelby America comes up and says it was made for the 2006 SEMA show and was designed and built as a prototype for FORD by Shelby. It is a one-off with over 6 figures to built it. It had an aluminum 5.0 Supercharged 550 hp engine, custom front end and hood, projector headlamps, a BORLA exhaust that came threw the SIDE of the rear fenders, 22" wheels with 4 piston calipers, special suspension, custom pewter paint and a custom interior. I was like in awe of this really sharp looking SUV and thought it would sell for a ton of money. IT SOLD FOR $28,000:shock:. Good deal or not?

That's significantly less than my Explorer stickered brand new in 06, I'd say he might've lucked out. Stock Expeditions with 60,000 miles are selling for ~20,000.

pics of this thing?

An OK deal IMO. There are so many one-off cars out there I think the collectible values of them are getting hit.
|
Wow, nice looking truck. I'm not an SUV fan, but that thing is sharp.
|
I hope that has air bags, it looks stupid sitting that high
|
It says "NO TITLE" as well so that probably hurts the value quite a bit.
|
i just threw up a little

it reminds me of the saleen/tim allen built windstar  |
Looks pretty god awful, typical.

Yeah it does sit up QUITE high. I wonder what it would take to make it street legal? I have Collector Car registration on my Formula and do NOT need to have it pass ANY N.J. emission laws. It would be a blast to drive that around. I would guess it would rip apart a SVT Jeep Wagoner with the 425 hp motor. If you wanted to you could probably take all the parts out of it and make a profit!

fixed  |
The guys who talk about the car during the bidding said this vehicle can never be registered or driven legally on the road. So useful!
|
Aside from the ridiculous exhaust tips I kinda like it. I'd pick that up if I had expendable income. I would love to hit the lottery and go to BJ. The power to just buy anything has to be a freak'in rush.

If it has no title it likely has no vin. I'm sure there is some way around the rules though, there always is.
|
kit car...
|
buy a wrecked expo and take the vin plate and title ;)
