Finally On The Road - 1973 Type LT/RS
My 7 year restoration is finally almost complete. I have been driving it and I only need to do a little work in the interior. I need to install carpet, door panels and kick panels. Hopefully that will be complete by the end of the month.

Looks great!
I think this was brought up in one of your threads about the car a while back, but what is the status of the HVAC? Obviously no AC....but heat / vents? - Justin |
Split bumpers make me horny lol. Looks good man. One thing though, it's odd seeing painted to match bumpers....it's definitely different than the chrome you always see. What made you paint them?

Thanks everyone for the comments.
Tru2Chevy, Currently, I have no HVAC system at all. The goal is to install a Vintage air unit under the dash and use the existing vents in the car. I have a 4 port bulkhead in the firewall hidden by the fender for when I get the $ to buy the Vintage Air system. Frosty, Early on in the build I decided that I wanted to go with a chrome free look on the car. If you notice the window trim and the grille and most other chrome trim is painted black. I had thought about painting the bumpers black but I photoshopped the rear bumper in black and the yellow just looked better. At that point I made the decision to match the front with the rear and do the fronts in yellow too. Also, it is hard to see in the pictures but I smoothed all the bumpers so there are no visible bumper bolts. Also, the chrome on my bumpers was shot so doing this saved me money. Lastly, the bumpers and trim aren't permanent, so I could always buy new chrome bumpers and trim and install them if I ever want. |
When I first saw it I was like "hmmmm, different...not sure if I like it"...but the more and more I keep looking at the bumpers I like it....since there's no chrome anywhere else I think it looks good.
Now you just need to throw in the AC and a LSx motor and you're set :D Very nicely done :) |
i like it
but... not too keen on the red rad hose... i think a black one would look much better. |
So cleeannnn i love it! split nose ftw!

Yeah, I'm not sure about it either. I was able to pick the red one up for $6 and the black version was $30. It looks better in person than in pictures. Some day I may change it and the vacuum hoses to a nylon braided style to match the fuel lines. |
Looks great, can't wait to see it around.
|
sweeeeeeeeeeet!

Sexy. Glad to see it finally done. It looks amazing, enjoy it!
