wat to do about bearings.

So a week ago I bought a crank kit to do an engine for a friend. The crankshaft clearance is perfect, but the connecting rods are .007, when minimum is .009. the crank won't turn, so now I'm scratching my head. the kit came with the bearings so I don't know why they are tight when its a set, maybe they wanted the rods to be honed if the rods got scratched. The next size up will be .25mm ( it came with .50mm bearings), but that will make it .109. WAY out of spec unless my calculations are wrong. so whats your take on this engine guru's, what's my next step to gain the necessary clearance?

Sounds like you're going to have to have the rods resized/honed.

Bring the crank and your measurements to a machine shop and have the rod journals polished down to size.

First, mic the crank and then use a bore gauge in the big end of the properly torqued rod to determine which is out of spec. It's very possible the crank wasn't cut and polished properly. Find the problem first, then take corrective measures.
