BLS LT1 firebird light kit pics

So i got around to installing my BLS projector light kit that is built and distributed by our own Brian (Blackbirdws6). The install was fairly simple following the instructions provided. I really had no hang ups with the kit and they work flawlessly. I couldnt be happier with the finished results if anybody has any questions about the kit let me know. here is some pics.

I love my BLS kit. Brian does awesome work and these headlights really help in not only modernizing our cars, but making driving at night a "little" less dicey.

There is some mock-up work happening for the Camaro's but its a difficult setup to pull off cleanly. There is little area to work with and the look has to be right. I have a few CAD designs in the works so we will see what happens.

ohh ok i thought you werent messing with them at all yet... cant wait to see how that turns out!

The market seems pretty adamant about me making a kit so I've been tinkering. Nothing worth posting unless people want to see pics of me thinking at a desk with a projector in my hand lol.

hey.... thomas edison has pictures like that.... haha

I could dig that!
I was also wondering about swapping in a set into the third gen. Headlights I believe are the same dimension, so they could drop right into mine. And since it houses high and low beams (if I remember correctly) I could scrag the outside headlights, or just keep them there for the look.
...Pondering....

transmaro93 08-01-2010 07:20 PM

thirdgen are the 4666 sealed beams like my firebird?

BigAls87Z28 08-01-2010 07:23 PM

4666? Where did you pull that number? 4656 I believe, no?

quick edit: numbers are different, but looking at rockauto.com, they give the dimensions the same as the firebird headlights....

Hrmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. ..
Third gen with sweet, top shelf, high end, super awesome projector headlights? Im loving them on the 5th gen, and now I want them all the time.

transmaro93 08-01-2010 07:26 PM

mine are high/low beams 4666

_87TA_ 08-01-2010 07:49 PM

...so these will work with a 3rd gen ta?

Haha I could dig it. I would also bet the projectors used for this kit would be better than the new Camaro's. I even mod the ones included with the kit for even better output and color at the cutoff :). My guess is the 4666 is for the high and low beam sealed beam, while the 4656 is just a low beam.

3rd gen TA uses a larger housing but the basic principles of this could work. Only thing is, I would have to completely retool for the mounting system and cover lens. The market is small enough on the 93-97 Birds and my guess is the 3rd gen birds is even more so. :(

maroman88 08-01-2010 10:19 PM

93-97 birds have the same size headlights as third gen camaros... i used the exact same set of sealed beam conversion lights in my 88 and my 95

BigAls87Z28 08-01-2010 10:52 PM

I could always keep the outside as an additional highbeem light!

Frosty 08-02-2010 05:51 AM

Wow, looks great!

tech, low beams are supposed to be on the outside.

I have true projectors on the vette and I have to say I fricken LOVE them! Its made driving at night a dream compared to the old sealed beam plastic factory lights! The cut off is awesome! And the way it alluminates the whole road (even to the sides of the vehicle) are awesome! Gives you that high end german style headlight system experience!

93-97 bird lights are the same as the 91-92 bird lights i believe
91-92 bird lights are smaller like the camaro size but hi/low
82-90 bird lights are larger size and hi/low
82-92 camaro lights are high OR low version.
93-97 camaro lights are just stupid thin

i think thats the proper breakdown...
