Accident report details below

I'm surprised they didn't give them a BAC test.

Either way the report was well-written in your favor.

The ****** part is that your car is toast. :(

jin1481 08-13-2010 03:57 PM

Done Sir, Done

BonzoHansen 08-13-2010 04:13 PM

now it needs tubs. :)

98tadriver 08-14-2010 03:54 AM

what do u mean by "the car is toast" and "done sir, done?" do you guys think its totaled? i dont think the frame is bent. airbags did not go off either

creeper 08-14-2010 04:41 AM

how many miles are on the car? my z28 was deemed totaled a few years ago with this damage, when the NADA/KBB value was in the $7k range...

even if insurance totals it you can still definitely repair it, it's just a lot of work

Frosty 08-14-2010 06:32 AM

1/4 panel, rear body panel, wheelhouse...all gone. Bumper cover, absorber and reinforcement bar. Tail light, the filler panel and repair on the front door.

Be prepared for it to be totaled. :( :( :(

7998 08-14-2010 08:02 AM

I'm with Frosty, I think they're going to total it. Take the money and buy it back and fix it.

12secondv6 08-14-2010 08:03 AM

Ouch! Damn bastards!

JL8Jeff 08-14-2010 09:05 AM

Are you kidding, a raccoon! If the witness saw them speeding and called it in before the accident why would they believe that crap and not do a BAC?

DevilDougWS6 08-14-2010 09:33 AM

I have an extra 12 disc changer in my garage if you need it. sucks about the damage dude. hope everything turns out for the better

98tadriver 08-14-2010 11:12 AM

thanks for the input guys. as for the mileage, it has 88,000 and change. I dont think im gonna fix it. i think im just gonna part it out when the time comes. ill be sure to make a new thread in the classifieds section when that day arrives

sweetbmxrider 08-14-2010 12:26 PM

finally!

MyFirstZ 08-15-2010 09:50 AM

i dont think they will total it, i had the exact same thing on my car done. cost 4700$ from geico.

Frosty 08-15-2010 10:03 AM

You also have a '00 SS, not a '99 Z28. The value is greater. His car is tagged and tagged hard.

MyFirstZ 08-15-2010 10:32 AM

thats true, i forgot this was not in the t/a

a buddy of mine had simliar damage as mine but not as bad, he said it was $4100, but i cant remember who his insurer was. After seeing what everyone said, Im guessing its going to be 4k+ if its not totalled

Frosty 08-15-2010 11:12 AM

It will be well over $4K, if you notice the floor is tweaked too.

I'm certainly not trying to be negative, I wish the damage wasn't as bad...

Seeing this stuff brings me back to when I was writing body shop estimates.

wcamarors1992 08-15-2010 11:45 AM

...

I just had almost the same damage fixed on my 01 z28 last week. I think the total estimate of the damage was near 5k.

lol i hear ya dude. i know youre not trying to be negative.

Whether the damage is crazy expensive or it gets totalled, I think ill make out pretty good either way. Im more angry about the girls stupidity for driving reckless and messing up my ride, and the fact the cops didnt give them a breath test

holy crap. howd you go about the estimate process? did your insurance company estimate it? or did you get estimates from a few different body shops?

Frosty 08-15-2010 02:19 PM

Ron, what did your insurance company say? Did they say they're going to send someone out to your home to inspect it? Did they tell you to get your own estimates? Did they tell you to drive the car to one of their approved shops?

wcamarors1992 08-15-2010 02:30 PM

I went to the body shop that I was going to use for the repair first and got an estimate, then I called my insurance company and they sent another estimator to my house. I think I had the check for the damages within a week after the second estimate.

Its gonna be a little different for you because your gonna have to deal with the other parties insurance. The worst thing about that damage is there are no new quarter panels, so you have to find a junked camaro somewhere.
