Edelbrock Torque Arm HELP!
 

I can't seem to get Torque arm to fit onto my rear. The middle on the Bolt up area hits the diff and wont clear it. Any ideas as to why it wont work?

Stock rear?

Got any pics of exactly what is hitting?

Yes im assuming it is.

OK if you lay the arm flat it looks like a "U". Now when I put it up to the rear i can get the bolts through the bottom but cannot get the top of the arm over far enough to but the bolts through it. And it seems to be hitting the rear in the middle of the upper and lower mounting holes. Almost seems like in order for it to fit you would have to notch out the rear thats hitting the arm preventing it from lining up the upper holes.

Are you saying that the wider part of the torque arm that has the bolt holes to attach to the rear is not wide (or tall i guess) enough to fit on the machined section of the rear?

The middle part of the arm in between the upper and lower bolt holes butts up against the side of the rear.

You really need to take a picture and post it up so we can see exactly what we're working with. Even if it's a half blurry cell phone pic.

I have a UMI torque arm, would you like to try it on the car?

All the tq. arms are built the same way. Unless the tq. arm is bent/broken or he's got a different rear in the car, it *should* fit without an issue.

are you talking about the part where the "E" is cut out? and on the "inside" side of the "E" is hitting the differential?

Shot in the dark, maybe the suspension is at full droop or in an otherwise wrong position for the install that messes with the geometry?

He did say he could get the lower bolts in though, and if that's the case, the top should drop right in as well.

Yes where the E is on the torque arm it hits the rear. I put the stock one on today and it went right on no problem so I have no clue other than it maybe being a swapped rear.

swapped rear or not, it should fit. My guess is crappy edelbrock QC. Is the "E" only hitting in a small spot that maybe could be ground down? or is the entire surface of the torque arm bottoming out on the rear?
