Hard to shift...95 integra

95 Acura Integra, 5 speed, 1.8L. Sooo all of a sudden my car is hard to get into gear when rolling. It feels like im not using the clutch at all. The car will shift smoothly if i double-clutch. Fluid is fine in the hydraulics, no leaks that i can see, slave cyl is about a year old, master unknown. Once its in gear the clutch grabs just fine, pedal feels normal. Any ideas?

Only while rolling? Is it every gear?

GP99GT 10-12-2010 03:29 PM

Yep, only while rolling...at a stop i can put it in any gear just fine. And yes, any gear

Well since you said when you double clutch it'll go in, I'm thinking the syncros are shot. Were you getting any grinding between shifts leading up to this?

GP99GT 10-12-2010 05:30 PM

only used to grind going into 3rd when it was really cold, and trying to shift quick...other than that, never. why would it just happen suddenly? i drove it saturday just fine, it sat sunday, monday i get in it and it wont shift properly.

i mistyped the original post, master cyl is about a year old, slave is unknown

hows the fluid? dirty?

GP99GT 10-12-2010 06:55 PM

fluid is clean, had to refill it when i did the master cyl.

all of the hydraulics seem okay so its gotta be either the TO bearing, clutch fork, or clutch itself...blah

These would be more problematic when not in motion. Problem engaging into gear while moving leans more towards internal problems. Syncros like Feather said.

why would they all just stop working properly all at once?
