95 Cutlass Ciera possible trans mount issues

Feels to me like the trans mount's shot... low speed/low RPM/as im on the throttle i can hear/feel knocking just like when trans mounts went on my camaro. I got the part, got under to replace it, and forgot how much easier this is on RWD... I unbloted the trans mount from the crossmember, unbolted the front engine mount too, and tried jacking the engine up since with of those mounts sit on the crossmember and bolt trough it... they didnt even begin to come out though, the whole car just jacked up. Could this be from not unbolting the rear mount? Or is there something I'm missing here?

where did you jack up on the motor? and yeah it may most likely be that you have to unbolt the rear mount.

didn't think about the possibility of an upper mount... definitely the reason it didn't jack. I'm not so sure it's the mount anymore, kinda thinking exhaust, hard to tell since it only happens under load

4 or 6 cylinder? did you try power braking with someone watching for movement to verify it is the mount?
