Ak-47

Anyone else buy an ak-47.. We got a call tonight from the state police.. They're giving us 24 hours to turn her in:-x The reason ours was legal there was a loop hole and it was listed as a cattle rifle. They got turned in now we need to give it up.

I loved that gun more than all the others we have. I was so good at shooting with it. Never missed any shot. Luckly we get our 1900$ back for it. So pissed off we need to turn it in. We have boxes and boxes of ammo for it. Now we can't shoot it. I really hate this state.

I understand we got it through a loophole but still it stinks to lose it. I'm not getting to far into this but if anybody bad person wants to get their hands on it they will. Why take it from the good honest people.

BigRocsFirebird 11-18-2010 07:05 PM

yeah we are talking about moving. Then we can get more guns and fully auto. Jersey FTL

procamaroz28 11-18-2010 07:08 PM

umm what kind ak??? why is it not legal??? what if it is made jersey compliant???

procamaroz28 11-18-2010 07:09 PM

make sure "ak" is not on receiver. if you have a threaded barrel u gotta weld a tip on.. and ofcourse 15 round mags...
o yea and shave of Bayonet lug if u have..

BigRocsFirebird 11-18-2010 07:18 PM

has everything to comply with the law but they changed some crap so they're taking them. Were taking back to the gun shop we got it from. the guy said they are trying to change it back to where we can still have it. it may happen within this week so were going to have him write a check to us. not going to cash it right away but if we can get it back due to the ban then we'll cash it.

That sucks you have to give it back. Jersey does have some of the stupidest firearm laws.

procamaroz28 11-18-2010 08:04 PM

PA.. LUCKYYY!!
is the bottom one a WASR 10/63??

PolarBear 11-18-2010 08:22 PM

I hope you realize you now need a PERMIT to transport that firearm ANYWHERE in NJ. If you do not have a transportation permit you can be arrested.

You need the permit to transport all firearms including paintball and pellet guns

sweetbmxrider 11-18-2010 08:32 PM

more info on the permit?

Yeah the bottom one is a WASR, I love it. It is deadly accurate and reliable and my go to rifle.

Speaking of stupid Jersey laws. This guy got 7 years for trying to be legal. Thats appalling and shame getting locked up for trying to do the right thing.

Q6.

How do you transport firearms?

A6.

Firearms shall be carried unloaded and contained in a closed and fastened case, gunbox, securely tied package, or locked in the trunk of the automobile in which it is being transported.

Ammunition must be transported in a separate container and locked in the trunk of the automobile in which it is being transported. If the vehicle does not have a compartment separate from the passenger compartment, the firearm must be in a locked container other than the vehicle's glove compartment or console.

PolarBear 11-18-2010 08:45 PM

Aparantly the law went into effect very recently and I dont think the state police page has been updated yet.

I will get more details but it falls under some other laws or something

procamaroz28 11-18-2010 08:45 PM

^^ yup even check state police site...

So what you are all saying is that EVERYTHING posted on the internet is
a. ALWAYS correct
b. always up to date

And the fact that I have no proof to back up my information is false and therefore not worthy of your own investigation.
My friends cousin is on TAC in Trenton, so I think he knows WTF he is talking about

bad64chevelle 11-18-2010 10:11 PM

They are going to be locking a lot of us up then, since no one knows about it.

OP....Im sure those 30 round magazines were used in another state too, correct? Or they are pinned to a 15rder?
You're not the only one...supposedly many people got a call today even with other AK variants. Dodged a bullet by about 24 hours myself, was about to go pick up a Saiga tomorrow night.

procamaroz28 11-18-2010 10:32 PM

wow so what is the meaning behind all these "calls" and what is their reasoning?

procamaroz28 11-18-2010 10:33 PM

+ how do they know that a rifle was not modified to meet NJ compliance?

91chevywt 11-18-2010 10:47 PM

The hippie d-bags won't rest until all the guns are melted down. Small steps at a time.

BigRocsFirebird 11-18-2010 11:10 PM
