Tough Mudder April 9, 2011 Bear Mtn Pa

We're a bunch of badasses doing Tough Mudder's Allentown, PA event on April 9, 2011. The longer you wait to sign up, the more expensive it gets.

Join here. We're in the 12pm start time, on Saturday April 9.

You can search for the team in the 6-10 category.
Team name: Fania Mudding Co.
Team password: roofs

Go here to sign up: http://toughmudder.com/events/pennsylvania/

Also, for anyone who'd like to sign up, there is a discount coupon. From now until Monday 11/29/10, if you put "TMBearCreek" into the coupon box when you purchase your pass, you get $20 off bringing the total to $100 (before fees).

What is Tough Mudder you ask?

Tough Mudder is not your average lame-ass mud run or spirit-crushing ‘endurance’ road race. It’s Ironman meets Burning Man, and it is coming to a city near you. Our 7-12 mile obstacle courses are designed by British Special Forces to test all around strength, stamina, mental grit, and camaraderie. Forget finish times. Simply completing a Tough Mudder is a badge of honor. All Tough Mudder sponsorship proceeds go to the Wounded Warrior Project.
WARNING: A Tough Mudder is 3-4 times longer and much tougher than a typical mud run such as Warrior Dash. Only those in reasonable physical condition should enter

Still openings Nick? I am debating doing it.

FML... signed up anyway, I loath cardio.

KirkEvil 12-08-2010 05:11 PM

Im getting ready to go to the Monmouth vs Princeton basketball game, but I will be signing up tonight when I get home. GO TEAM!

Anti_Rice_Guy 12-08-2010 06:35 PM

Obviously still openings, but hurry up ladies!

We have a decent team going now so it should be a good time. As it gets closer we'll name a place to have breakfast and meet and great before the event since we have ot be there early anyway.

LTb1ow 12-08-2010 06:55 PM

How many people is there so far Nick?

Anti_Rice_Guy 12-08-2010 09:51 PM

7 on the roster as of this exact moment. Plus Kirk.

That's not including 1 local friend, 1994lt1, and teds89iroc and crew that are supposed to sign up that I reminded today.

A few others said they might but I don't have high hopes for.

We have one girl and a possibility of another if her friend doesn't start her own team.

LTb1ow 12-08-2010 09:54 PM

Ah feck, now I am gonna be losing to a girl as well as mr kenya himself. Damnit.

If the other girl joins, you can get your ass kicked by a 27 year old girl who's engaged

I fear getting stuck in drainage pipe.

Anti_Rice_Guy 12-08-2010 10:37 PM

There were some people your size that managed last time. Plus you can wuss out, I mean opt out, of any obstacle.

Since I'm the captain I get emails of when you all sign up and how you answer the questions. I had no idea you were "extreme" haha

Question 6: What type of Tough Mudder are you?
Answer 6: Extreme Sports - Adrenaline

And yeah it's a great time, the more the merrier.

There was no "Engineer" in the list so I decided to be extreme

LTb1ow 12-09-2010 07:22 AM

Yea and there was no, " I life weights and hate cardio" option either. Tell em to fix that.

CHRIS67 12-09-2010 07:47 AM

Anti_Rice_Guy 12-11-2010 03:18 PM

LOL. Some friends at work tried to get me to sign up. I told them if there's an option for "run 1/4 mile with a tractor tire on your back" I'd be game. Till then, I figure my knees take enough abuse.

KirkEvil 01-11-2011 01:02 PM

Hey Nick did you change anything in the team info? I just got charged an extra $59.95 on top of the entrance fee I paid, which was paid in full when I signed up early in December...

The extra charge went through from the Active company, but they have all the same info on the charge as the tough mudder

Anti_Rice_Guy 01-11-2011 03:34 PM

I have not changed a single thing. The only thing I could think of would be if you did the option where you pay less but have to raise the set amount of money for the charity.

I would call up Active. I haven't been charged again for anything, neither has any of the rest of the team as far as I know.

KirkEvil 01-11-2011 04:06 PM

I didnt opt for the fundraiser, so idk why I got charged more. I'll give them a call tomorrow

KirkEvil 01-31-2011 07:00 PM

Hey Nick are you training or anything for this?

Anti_Rice_Guy 01-31-2011 08:38 PM

Yes and no. I was hardcore for the first 2 weeks of January, then I got mad sick and have been sitting on my ass bored out of my mind. I'm still sick but hitting the gym again this week because I'm going crazy.

If you give me your email I can send you my workout spreadsheet I made - it includes everything except my running, which I just do a lot of. I will say cardio is probably the biggest aspect of the race - some strength helped at certain events with crawling and stuff but overall endurance is far more important. Smash-like strength is not necessary anywhere on the course

Also there's another one officially being announced for Tri-State at Englishtown again in November coming shortly.

LTb1ow 01-31-2011 08:52 PM

I just ate two cheeseburgers, you mad?
