old lady crashed into my car. its a 1999 chevy camaro ss m6 with headers, ory, slp dual dual, tune and lid. It has 101k on the odo and the tranny was rebuilt 10k ago with a new clutch also. how much do you think i could sell it for as is?

CHRIS67 12-22-2010 06:27 AM

Why not fix it? Seems like only minor damage.

BrandonDrecksage 12-22-2010 06:38 AM

i'm not a fan of driving cars that have been in accidents. Not sure how much damage has been done. I know that the hood, fender, head light, fog light, turn signal, paint, installation and labor. Not sure if they will fix it since these cars arent worth much anymore. I'm waiting to hear from the ladies insurance so I can file my claim. I figure i could make a decent amount from parting it out or selling it as a hole to someone wanting to swap the wiring, engine and tranny into a car.

?? Why? As long as there is no major structural damage a good shop will get it looking good.

BrandonDrecksage 12-22-2010 07:20 AM

i'm asking how much its worth as it sits, not debating on if i should fix it or not. thanks.

Frosty 12-22-2010 07:25 AM

$10

I'd say maybe 2500-3K. Have you thought about parting it?

greenformula92 12-22-2010 08:15 AM

dude...make her insureance pay for it and then sell for 9k

NJ Torque 12-22-2010 08:20 AM

I'm local and am willing to come to take a look at it...

V 12-22-2010 08:28 AM

yeah 3500 max id say it that current shape

...fixed id say max 6500, book is what maybe 7000

it very possibly is a total due to cost to repair if thats the original hood(u said it is an SS)

id say take the totaled out payment, buy the car back, and resell as a whole, dont bother parting it, someone would buy it for 3500 as a donor car as is. then all in all you got around 9-10k out of it to go buy something else.

BrandonDrecksage 12-22-2010 08:45 AM

thanks for the responses guys. her insurance is gonna pay for it, but if its not totalled, i'm gonna part it. if it is totalled then i'm gonna buy it back and part it or sell it as a whole depending on how much i would get. Thats why I was asking. anybody is free to look at it also and drive it once the claim goes through. you can pm me for my contact info.

thats what i figured cause gm charges a lot for that item. I wanted to resell as a whole so i'm not worrying about doing all the work myself. thanks

i couldnt do that right now anyway because i have to wait for the insurance claim to go through before I could sell it.

Squirrel 12-22-2010 04:45 PM

if you still got it in spring and i havent found anything we might talk

S.J.SLEEPER 12-22-2010 05:28 PM

I'm in for the wing, an other misc. if you decide to part it !!!

maroman88 12-22-2010 06:37 PM

wheres the SS wheels?

ws6 jim 12-22-2010 09:45 PM

Sounds like your throwing in the towel too early. Wait for the insurance to finish up, holidays pass, and warm weather to arrive. Chances are you'll sell it easier or enjoy it more in the nice weather. Either way good luck with it.
