sweet....2 door blazers/jimmys where always pretty good off road....especially in a 5speed

My '94 Jimmy is awesome in the snow. If there's one thing the S trucks are good at, it's snow driving. Just doesn't get stuck.

chrisfrom nj 01-11-2011 11:08 AM

i have a 94 blazer they are good for driveing in the snow

EchoMirage 01-11-2011 03:11 PM

Same question... I used to ride my quad there years ago, then the police mandated we had insurance, eventually they put the kabash on it all together. I havent been back since because I thought that area was off limits.

Firebird67dude 01-12-2011 10:59 AM

I never did but I kno ppl. that went around the fence and came in on the river/creek side. Also by the car park spot ppl used to go in also. I need to get my wrngler some off road time. Anyone down for a trip?

maroman88 01-12-2011 12:04 PM

you mean leave 17 and drive right off the road? 10 years ago i took my quad there a few times, long before i had a truck. we parked at sharps, and rode all around through stag hill and beyond. somewhere i remember we drove through a 5-6' culvert underneath a road to get to the other side, and eventually wound up under the throughway, where the highway is 100ft above you.

i wouldnt mind seeing how my truck does in the snow, if you want to go again.

maroman88 01-12-2011 02:55 PM

lol no not right off 17.. u take the exit for the hotel and just drive off of their road, theres kind of a trail worn in

EchoMirage 01-12-2011 09:33 PM

thats the usual way of getting in. i have heard of people driving right off the shoulder from 17 and into the woods though, so i asked to clarify.

There is also an entrance by that giant ramp that takes you to 17. That service road that takes you to the actual Sharp building ends in a small and relatively steep little trail entrance. That's where I used to enter with my Isuzu because I hate those little whoops by the other entrance closer to the hotel. My Saturn doesn't have enough ground clearance so I have to enter by the whoops now to get into the trails. There are multiple entrances. You can even enter through Hillburn by the railroad tracks!

The Lumber people join in some times.

A few times cops have come buy but its ussually if they see you through the trees.
