Made some rock sliders/steps for the new Jeep
Last time I had a Jeep I wanted to make my own parts but ended up buying most of them. This time I am making as many of the parts as I can, I started with these.
They are finished and installed! It took a little longer than anticipated but it was worth the extra time. I didn't like the first result so I recut and remodeled them. I have them primed flat black right now, I am going to ryno line them this weekend. I could have done it now but I couldn't wait to put them on! Here they are..... http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j5...6/DSC01865.jpg http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j5...6/DSC01864.jpg http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j5...6/DSC01866.jpg My wife got me a new helmet so I can build all this for her Jeep! Next up... bumpers! :brows: http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j5...ii136/mask.png |
Looking pretty beast!

Looks slippery as hell.. but cool!

Looks like it came out good. Helmet is badass.

Look great man. I know you want to make your own stuff but check out Built Tough Off Road down in the Howell area. My buddy runs and owns it...specializes in custom Jeep parts. He's always more than willing to just bounce ideas around and offer tips to other guys. I think he even has a forum on his website just for kicking around ideas and so forth.

From one wheeler/self fabricator to another, dont bed line them... If you ever do drag them across a good rock its gonna start to flake the rest of it. Etching primer and Rustoleum Professional Enamel from lowes is the way to go for stuff you know is gonna get dragged.

The sliders look good, but I agree with Vinny - no bedliner unless you aren't planning on getting this thing dirty and are just doing this for the look.

I like the textured look of it. It will see the trails but not as bad as my last Jeep. I dont think it really matters what I use, if I hit a rock its getting f'd up!
Hardcore: Sorry I forgot your real name! but can you powder coat things that big? |

If you want texture then get a hammered paint... I'm telling you bedliner is bad news. It encapsulates rust in a bad way when it get a chip in it... |
