Anybody else notice how dirty the recent rain was?

My truck is covered with dirt after the rain. I guess it's the fallout from the volcanos that erupted this past year. I was going to wash my truck this past weekend but figured the salt still on the roads would get splashed up again but it turns out the dirty rain was worse than the dirty roads.

I did actually! I was wondering wtf happened. Sometimes the rain kicks up dirt around the lower parts of the car but everything looked like ass! I gotta wash it now.

Artful Dodger 03-01-2011 08:07 AM

I noticed it this morning... The car was cleaner from the recent snow, then the last time it rained. Time for a good car bath.

WiMiMc 03-01-2011 08:20 AM

at least it looks like most of the week should be nice

BigAls87Z28 03-01-2011 12:29 PM

I did notice it. I just washed the press car damn it!

LTb1ow 03-01-2011 12:33 PM

Didn't notice it, car looks the same as it did last time I looked.

:shrugs:

I saw it yesterday it was really windy before it rained and it was a mix of pollen and dirt, then it rained and we had two tornadoes touchdown with 2 miles of me.

Washed the car up and it looks good. The self car wash has an air dryer that you can use  that thing is sweet!

lol I actually thought about that last weekend. I had my truck at the local self wash to clean up under the hood and underneath it after a busy week or so working on it – replaced leaking p/s high line and trans input shaft seal (messy leaks), as well as the prerequisite ‘while I’m there’ work including the transfer case output shaft seal, OE oil cooler lines, and rear pinion yoke and seal (all light leaks).

So I’m hosing it down and using degreaser and such, being kind-of-not-really-careful around the alt & distributor and I thought ‘damn glad I don’t have an opti”. :)

BTW replacing a trans input shaft seal on a K1500 4x4 is a PITA. And the converter is heavy lol.

Its really just an internet myth, sorta like the loch ness monster and bigfoot.

I dunno, that is a lot of different fluids to land on the opti at once!

Like you know how to use that lol. Even points>opti. you can't setup an opti with a matchbook cover. :p besides points are easily updated for <$100.

Worst setup ever. Had to dust off the damn tool...

sweetbmxrider 03-01-2011 07:18 PM

I don't spray under the hood or car when I'm at the self wash.

Raist103 03-02-2011 07:20 AM
