I thought this would be interesting... the JSFBOA may wanna show off... lol. Maybe we could get a team or 2 together.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
PULL YOUR WEIGHT IN 2011
to benefit
SPECIAL OLYMPICS NEW JERSEY!!

OCTOBER 1, 2011
Newark Liberty International Airport
8 am to 2 pm

2011 is the 15th Anniversary of the New Jersey Law Enforcement Plane Pull.
We hope that all PAST PARTICIPANTS can join us to celebrate!

Registration will be available soon - check back for updates.

Join us as teams of 20 compete to pull a Boeing 737 weighing over 93,000 lbs. on the United tarmac at Newark Liberty International Airport!
http://www.sonj.org/LawEnforcement/P...es/Photo01.jpg
Each team has a captain and will compete in three ways:
Fastest Pull
Team to pull the aircraft 12 feet in the least amount of time wins

Lowest Combined Weight Pull
Team with the lowest team weight to pull the aircraft 12 feet in the least amount of time (two-minute limit) wins

Top Fundraiser
Teams are encouraged to raise as much money as possible prior to the event.

The top three teams will be honored in post-event ceremonies.
All proceeds collected by Plane Pull teams benefit Special Olympics New Jersey athletes and help foster the Special Olympics New Jersey mission:
To provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.

United Plane Pull was first introduced in 1997. The success of this event has helped more than 21,000 athletes train and compete free of charge, year-round in 24 Olympic-type sports.

Absolutely. Kohler and I were talking about this a few months ago.

sweetbmxrider 03-03-2011 07:27 PM

I dont think theres an entry fee, you just raise money to donate.

I would love to do this event as well as the tough mudder, but not sure if I'll be fully recovered from surgery by then.

Yup. No entry fee, just raise money for charity. For a team of 20 we need to raise $50 a head.

V 03-03-2011 09:06 PM

yea, a Team minimum donation of 1,000 isnt bad, my friend raised over 300 for his Polar bear plunge, and that was just him, times that by a team 20 people... thats like $6,000.

yea, id still definitely be there to encourage everyone else and tell them how i could have done it better, lol.

Def in, much better than running 9 miles and perfect reason to bulk to 242.

I'd love to pull a plane. South has some seriously big dudes, I think Ron and I could handle it alone.

LS1ow 03-04-2011 05:47 AM

i think wed be better off combinding rather than North Vs. South Vs. Kohler

Here's another event that seems pretty cool. I'm doing with one of my buddies. It looks pretty cool. Alot of firefighters do it first with no gear then with gear.

This is a charity pull so I don't think we are being exclusive. If we were competitive it would be different.

Believe it or not but I've lost over 15lbs in the last 2.5 months from being sick/not being able to go to the gym. And even as of last Tough Mudder, I was down 10 lbs on top of that. I gotta gain my weight back!

HardcoreZ28 03-12-2011 08:43 AM

I'd be in for this
