madness410 03-31-2011 10:03 PM

yah, so?

S.J.SLEEPER 03-31-2011 10:16 PM

well...lets see, should compare apples to apples.
if the camaro had the following, it would see those #'s if not better.

Stainless Tubular headers
11.0:1 cr
Dohc four valves per cylinder
variable intake & variable camshaft timing
3:73's standard
3600 lbs

^ this is all standard in the Boss 302...

What kind of power you think the Ls motor would make with Dohc,Tubular headers instead of cast iron manifolds & car had weight reduction down to 3600lbs?

My guess you would see low 11s times.

BigRocsFirebird 03-31-2011 10:35 PM

not bad

Ls1dreamin02 04-01-2011 01:00 AM

its still a mustang.....no thanks

aaahhhhh big deal. My 2000 SS went 12.70 out the box w/ just an airlid.
F.Y.I. that was 10yrs ago.....So it took Ford 10 yrs to go 4 tenths faster w/ all todays technology.:loser:

...and some cars are just factory freaks like yours. Contrary to popular belief not every LS1 car is some factory 12 second car. A majority of the ones I've seen at Atco, bone stock, were 13.20-13.50 cars.

My Z28 was a 13.40 car all day long, cutting a 1.9x 60' time on stock RSA's. Car was bone stock down to the paper filter. Had mid 50K miles on it at the time. Granted it was an A4 car but still, a far cry from a stock, 12 second car, lol.

The thing is, the Camaro doesn't come with all that from the factory. apples to Apples, stock pony car to stock pony car.

When you start modifying, the game changes. As they sit from the factory, you have to give it up to the Boss.

yes, I undersatand that (pony car to pony car). but Boss doesn't have a single cam pushrod motor, so therefore not comparing apples to apples, also Boss is $40k +

Flip it the other way, Vette is a pony car, would you compare the zr1 or zo6 to the Boss, if so the Boss loses every which way you look at it....oh wait a minute, you can fit more than 2 people in a boss, can't in a vette.

I never considered the mustang 4.6l to be apples to apples with the F-body platform, due to its much smaller in ci,huge msrp difference & just being a plain turd.

Frosty 04-01-2011 05:29 PM

The Corvette isn't a pony car.

S.J.SLEEPER 04-01-2011 05:31 PM

for what reason?

maroman88 04-01-2011 05:33 PM

it handles turns as well lol

Frosty 04-01-2011 05:34 PM

I've never heard it referred to as a pony car by anyone, on any forum. It's generally considered a sports car due to the handling.

I'm sure this will spark some debate but it's a good list/definitions

SWEET !!!! So since my SS is considered a "muscle car" not a "pony car" but it now has only 2 seats & has fiberglass & polyurethane body, then it must be a
"sport muscle car"

So what is the carbon fiber version of the vette? an "exotic"?

hahahahahahah What the phoohk are we arguing about cuz some jackwagon posted up some lame "mustang crap" on a "GM site".
