liscense plate cover mod

ide like to get air to my intercooler on my trans am but also give the open area a stock clean look. ive got an idea to modify the liscence plate insert by cutting out the center and putting some kind of mesh on the inside but im not sure the best way to go about it to give it a clean look. they make one for corvettes that i would like to copy using the plate cover. if you guys have any ideas ide like to hear them.

i included a link of the plate cover from a vette

Get a spare license plate cover, dremel out the firebird, add chicken wire & viola!

what about where the chicken wire meets the plastic maybe use something inbetween that to give it a more complete look?

well if all you dremel out is the firebird then you can hot glue the chicken wire on the edges of the actual plate cover. and you wouldnt know unless you looked behind.

im thinking im going to do a larger opening just to get more air into it. i do like the bird idea though

I like the idea of expanded steel rather than chicken wire. More solid if a pebble or two hits it. I prefer the look, too. Just a suggestion.

just as a thought for getting air to the intercooler a design like /__\ is more efficient than either \__/ or |__| . some random knowledge.
