Big Thanks to Paul @ RPM Custom!

Paul (HardcoreZ28) at RPM Resto & Custom powdercoated a set of draglites for me. I gave him the wheels in pretty rough shape and he worked some serious magic on these things...Excellent finish inside and out on these... pics really dont do them justice.... Thanks Paul!

pics on car please..... been thinking about powder coating my draglites black but milling the holes in the rim and polishing them to make them stand off a bit.

btownws6 05-20-2011 01:14 AM

looks awesome congrats

sweetbmxrider 05-20-2011 07:22 AM

Can't wait to see em even though I should have already :-?

Blackbirdws6 05-20-2011 07:35 AM

They came out really nice and look better in black. I will light a candle for your 10-bolt tonight.

HardcoreZ28 05-20-2011 08:39 PM

Glad you're happy with them. Was busy all day painting the Firebird in the shop. I'll have that number for you soon man.

ar0ck 05-21-2011 02:33 PM

The wheels should look sharp once on the car! Looks good

NJ346 05-23-2011 05:21 PM

did you weigh them before and after? Curious to see how much weight was added to the rim.

I didnt weight them before.

The rears weigh 14 lbs, and fronts are 9 lbs....bathroom scale calibrated with a 30 lb dumbbell . I guess you could dig up the bare weights somewhere online.

WildBillyT 05-23-2011 07:07 PM

15x10s are around 11.5 lbs I think.

KirkEvil 05-23-2011 07:20 PM

Got me looking...Info from weld's website:

15x8 rears are 12.95lbs, 15x3.5 fronts are 9.75lbs

Anti_Rice_Guy 05-23-2011 09:39 PM

So the fronts lost weight..

coolmanvette75 05-23-2011 09:52 PM

Kirk i need to get me one of these scales. It will make me feel better about myself...

KirkEvil 05-23-2011 10:02 PM

In conclusion, my bathroom scale is magical and powdercoating wheels was a terrible idea because of all the weight

The rear wheels with tires weigh 33lbs, and the fronts are 21lbs with tires. Even with all that powder weight, it will be a 75lb difference in rotational mass from the replica zr1's and tires I run now...
