Can These Wheels Be Refinished?
I found a set of 350z wheels for my G35 but they're rashed up pretty bad. Do you guys think they could be sanded smooth and able to be powdercoated, or does the damage look too deep?

dear god did the car get mauled by a dragon?

They may be able to be repaired but it will not come cheap. I would see if I could get an estimate from a wheel shop based off of the pictures. |
I'd be worried about damage to the wheel itself, like being out of round or something with that much damage.

There are wheel repair sites that do that type of work and also a lot of dealers use them. I have seen pictures that can make the wheel look brand new, BUT the cost for the set you have is going to be close or over $500.00, guessing because that type of work on a single wheel runs $100-$125.
Unless you can buy these for under $1.00, finding a really nice set will cost you just about the same as getting these curb feelers fixed. |
Bondo, lots of bondo :D
IMO, keep looking ,a deal will come up. |
i agree with blacdout, keep looking, instead of having them repaired and not coming out well, use the money you'd spend to repair them and buy a nicer set
|
if you do get them repaired, USA wheel in fairfield is the place to go. i deal with them threw my dealership

Oh man those are rough. If you really want a set of Z wheels try shooting an email out to the NJZclub's general mailbox and ask them to forward it out to the members. You may find a set of take offs in good shape through them.

Thanks for all the input fellas! I'm gonna pass on them after your advice. The more I looked at those pics, the more I thought I'd dump more into them than what they're really worth.
Paul, thanks for the heads-up about the Z-club, I'll check them out and see if they can help! |

Anyway, with the right time and effort, those could definitely come out alright, but lets face it, for what you're going to spend getting them fixed, you could have gotten a set in great condition without all the frustration and time it'll take. |
