well, i started with my 89 formula. My dad always wanted a muscle car, and my mother wouldn't let him get one. I bought my car to bond with him, but over the 3 years i've owned it, he's become very frustrated. I spent over $7,000 between buying and fixing it. Last april after getting it back from the mechanic it didn't feel right. 2 days later it stopped holding oil pressure. Mechanic told me the bearings on the crank are loose and that the car needs a new engine. That's when i purchased the trans am as a hobby car for my daily driver. With all new parts i assumed it would be ok, but the guy i bought it from had not a clue about cars. The trans am was in this board's calendar for 2009. Car sat for 7 years in his garage. He sold it cause it never won in car shows, and he found he should move on. He moved on to a 1994 firebird instead. I really need to find others that know about these cars and how they behave.
I know very little about cars. I know how to change a thermostat, change oil..not sure about brakes. My dad doesn't like me touching it..he's not confident enough that i won't break something and give him a bigger headache to fix. =) |
