creaking sound

mostly when i'm taking off or stopping,i first i thought it was the lower control arms or panhard bar so i added some grease and i still hear it. what could it be, the springs/shocks? something else?

hm perhaps it could be the lca's? if i'm at a stop and i let go of the brakes and hit them and repeat a few times quickly i can kind of hear it.

What kind of LCAs do you have?

WiMiMc 07-14-2011 08:49 PM

UMI non-adjustable

Poly/Poly? What kind of grease are you using?

WiMiMc 07-14-2011 09:02 PM

and a multipurpose auto grease

the lca's and panhard have been installed for about a year now.

The rear seat back can scrape on the latch on the driver's side. It will squeak from time to time, that's why I used to keep a small piece of cardboard wedged behind it so it wouldn't move. I'm not sure if that's it, but try moving the rear seat back.

I was going crazy chasing around a creaking noise in my car, replaced all the front suspension stuff. Turned out to be the hood bumpers up by the windshield. I re-adjusted them and put a little grease on them to soften them up. Haven't heard it since.

It was loud, sounded like parts were going to start falling off the car.

right now i have the seats folded down, and its def from the rear of the car. i hear it right as i'm about to come to a stop, i know i'll go nuts with this sound lol. that and the heat shield i have rattling every now and then.

it actually might be the lca's though i dont know why, i greased them up.

Wrong grease? I don't know how much that matters exactly, but I do not use regular auto grease with my poly stuff.

i'm not ruling that out, though it'd be weird since this is the first time i heard it.
