GRRR

so i found that my car has the old "access door for the fuel pump" cut by the previous owner, why do people do things half assed? this just annoys me cause now it means that i have to either patch it, or put a better piece of metal there cause whats there is a flimsy piece of sheet metal help in with some sort of tape, and it doesn't even cover the hole all the way.....GRRRR

its a third gen, almost everything is done half assed when you start digging into things that need to be repaired. i know from experience. lol

if its there, might as well keep it. trim the hole to make it clean and square, make a cover from steel or aluminum. paint it, drill holes around the permeter and bolt bolt it down with a gasket.

Make sure the fuel lines are fixed too, if you take the time to flare all the lines and install unions in place of the rubber hose that im sure is in there, it will be as clean as it can be, and safe.

Post pics to add to my collection?

i went the quick panel for my fuel pump but finished it off nice with metal and its held down with bolts, whats the problem with doing that if you finish it to look nice and it takes ten minutes to get to the fuel pump than hours?

nothing wrong with it if it's what you want to do
