Rear Ratio?

I have a 27" tall tire and a t56. I'm not interested in 1/4 mile performance on this car; I've come to the reality I can't bang around a six speed as well as I want to. It's a full bolt on car, over the winter I'm going to get arp rod bolts, run a thinner head gasket and get a AI 230/238 cam.

Do I want 4.10's or 4.56's? I only drive it about 5 minutes to work in the morning and one or twice a week for 30 minutes to my girlfriend's house. Don't care about fuel mileage or any of that. I just want to be able to have fun as cheap as possible.

4.10s. 4.56s in a ten bolt = tiny pinion gear and useless 1st gear.

I have 3.73 for a 10 bolt. With install kit.

You have three things... cheap, reliable and fast... pick two.

4.56 = bad idea

You have a 95 right, so that is the 2.66 or whatever 1st & .50 6th right? I like the 3.73s but 4.10s aren't bad.

LT1 guys can chime in on which gear matches your engine/rpm range/etc.

I wouldn't even bother throwing money at a stock rear end behind a cammed T56 combo. Start saving for a decent rear end.

4:10s max! If your not racing I would go 3:73s. 4:10 can be are hard to hook on street tires, like driving around on ice.

4.10's it is. Thanks all.
