whining after the storm
Hey guys,
I had to drive on Saturday night in Irene. I drove through some big puddles and stuff and now my car is making a whining noise. Seems to be coming from the front end and in sync with the RPM level. Otherwise the car seems to be running fine. I don't think its the power steering because it doesn't change pitch when i turn the wheel. any ideas? hasn't gotten better since.. |
in for an answer...mine is doing something similar
|
Belt or tensioner. I would pull the belt off and start spinning the accessories. You could also spray some wd40 or something similar to see if the noise stops. If it does, I would replace the belt. The ls1's are notorious for having a squeaky a/c belt, its separate from the main serpentine belt.

just annoying doesn't seem to be hurting the performance.. |
Could be a bearing then. Does it matter if the ac is on or not?

ls1 alternators are down low.... if its whining not squealing that coulda gotten wet
|
The AC belt definitely makes some noise so start by removing that to see if it goes away.
