Had my challenge last night/this morning. ****ing badass. I've been up for 26 hours, still hyped up on adrenaline.
Started at 8:15ish in NYC near Canal street, went around that area, saw Jersey from across the river, headed over towards Brooklyn, went swimming in the East River, carried a 1 ton log that was 20' long back over the bridge all the way to Chinatown, plus a 6' log that weighed idk, 250 lbs. Suckers were huge, probably 1.5 feet across. Plus stopping for PT at every crosswalk we couldn't cross due to cars or the orange hand.
Did 24.8 miles in 11.5 hours.
Here's a taste from last year's first challenge - as you can tell it's gotten longer and harder (that's what she said!). There are also more party rucksacks (GR2 bags, big bags, filled with bricks ~80 lbs), or as we call them....the bitch sacks.
When we weren't carrying the logs we did constant Indian runs, and had 7 "casualties" for a solid hour or so meaning 7 people doing firemen carries.
Everyone else only has 15-20 lbs of bricks plus underamor and a Camelback, etc so about a 25-30 lb load.

We ended up at the WTC around 7am and walked through the Trinity church to see the little memorials.
Overall an amazing experience and I can't wait to do it again :D
I will never forget this experience with Class 062!
The looks people gave us were priceless. Everyone wanted to know WTF we were doing and what "goruck" was.
