Finally got her back!

I cant even tell you how long its been, maybe if i search for my older post about how long my car was in that shop for haha. But i have her back and she's great. Just one question. The tranny guy told me to put about 100 miles on it, bring it back in about a month, he'll install a new shift cable and shifter free of charge (hopefully doesnt take 2 months  ) and he'll make any fine adjustments to the car. Well it shifts pretty hard from 1st to 2nd, and nice and smooth in every other gear. She'll chirp tires under 1/4 pedal! Correct me if i'm wrong, but this has to do with the shift kit installed and isnt a tv cable thing right? Im a n00b for this stuff honestly. I'll bring it up when i bring it back in a few weeks, but just making sure i should still drive it no worries until then. Thanks guys!

Have fun with it!

The shift firmness could be your shift kit, the TV cable, or (more likely) a combination of the two. I think the 1/4 throttle chirping is a TV cable adjustment, though. That does not sound like behavior that would be conducive to a long transmission life.

How old are your rear tires?

Also a really good question!

haha. the rear tires came with the car and they sat for quite a while. Almost look like trailer tires. Its the next thing on my list to fix once i get purty wheels for it. And 1/4 pedal chirping seemed to have stopped once the 15 or so mile breakin period was over. now its just hard shifts and chirp under nice throttle

So when you foot brake it and take it out of park, does it chirp its tires?

shifting firmness/harder shifts is also controlled by the servo. common upgrade is to install a corvette servo. servo can be adjusted by which pin location he used inside..

Get new tires and it should take more throttle to chirp em. My old DD was a 2005 Trailblazer (4L60E) with a TransGo HD2 shiftkit, vette servo and .500 inch boost valve and half throttle would chirp brand new tires. Full throttle was a spin through 2nd gear and that was with stock 3.42 gears.
