Teh 13z hits the dyno

Well I was at a car show that was giving everyone who was interested 2 free pulls on their dynojet. I said what the hell and and put it on to see what it would do. The final result was 293rwhp and 338rwtq with the mods in my sig. Not too bad IMO considering that she turned 139k miles while on the rollers...

Numbers look good but no SAE figures? Also, why don't the two lines meet at 5250?

redsoxsstink 09-17-2011 12:47 AM

Well that's more than some vert stang we know haha. I'd be plenty happy with that runs good sounds good and at the end of the day has more power than stock

This. And hp peaks at 4900

I was wondering this too but then someone on ls1tech pointed out that:

They do cross. The torque values are scaled higher (on the right), the hp is scaled on the left. At 5250 it is making roughly 275-280 torque and hp.

Why? my dyno graph showed me making peak power almost exactly at 5200 rpm, and that's what the factory rated it at as well.

Matt's graph shows the peak hp at 4900 which seemed strange.

sweetbmxrider 09-18-2011 05:51 PM

Many differences could attribute to that, too many to name.

The RPM scale is across the bottom. Just throwing that mere detail out there. Perhaps I am missing something here. Someone explain why the two lines don't meet at 5250

sweetbmxrider 09-18-2011 06:47 PM

Still doesn't make sense. Changing the scales would just change how high or low the lines go. I dono, sweet numbers brah

right, except the sweet numbers part because if the lines don't cross at 5252 everything else is kind of in question. Assuming I understand this right.

sweetbmxrider 09-18-2011 07:21 PM

Free dyno pull, graph is fubarred, seems legit.

drmrman 09-18-2011 07:29 PM

W/e the debate is about... At least the HP numbers seem straight. Similar mods to yours back in the day mine made 289hp/320tq.

Cool man :D

car is loud as hell.

That doesn't make sense. Regardless of magnitude or scale both numbers should cross at 5250.

Honestly who cares? Horsepower is a DERIVED number, not a measured value. Torque is the only number that matters.

This would be correct. If you do the math it is because of the way the Tark and HP are scaled VERTICALLY

sweetbmxrider 09-19-2011 08:57 PM

Wait, now I get it. Why the **** did they scale it different? Zomgz look at teh lines!

Yeah, I get that now. Kinda dog****ty though. Why do that?
